Life was alright growing up. I was the kid in school that was constantly getting in trouble and having behavioral issues. I always had a problem with authority. When I was young, I was taken away from my parents and I lived with my grandparents. A lot of trauma came from this period of time and I began smoking marijuana when I was in 5th or 6th grade. This continued and by the time I was a little older, I was selling drugs to support my habit. This ultimately led to legal trouble and my life was in shambles by the time I was 18. I liked using drugs to cope with trauma. Getting high was my happy place for a time and I became addicted to that sort of lifestyle. Right before I came to Teen Challenge, I overdosed and nearly died. My family told me that if I did not get help, they were going to kick me out of the house. I initially came to the program to make my family proud, but I am now here for a brand new life. I hope to walk the path the Lord has for me, graduate the program, and go back to school.
