I am a 50-year-old mother of three, with three beautiful grandchildren and one more on the way. I grew up in a home where I witnessed domestic violence between my parents. That environment left deep emotional scars, and by the age of 19, I turned to drugs as a way to numb the pain and escape the chaos I had experienced. My addiction eventually led me down a dark path that involved criminal activity. The poor choices I made while under the influence caused me to spend several years in and out of prison. I lost so much along the way, but I also came to realize that I couldn’t do life on my own anymore. The desperate need for real change brought me to the Home of Hope—a chance to rebuild my life, not just outwardly, but from the inside out. While in the program, my greatest hope is to strengthen my spiritual walk, heal from my past, and become the woman, mother, and grandmother God has called me to be.
