I was fortunate to grow up in a loving, happy, and fun environment. I loved growing up with my brothers and all of my cousins. My addiction began at the age of 12 when I started smoking weed. Then at 14 I started drinking alcohol and by the time I was in my 20’s I was binge drinking. When I got into my 30’s I was drinking on a regular basis but I always had alcoholic tendencies from the beginning. At first, I drank because everyone else was doing it and it was socially acceptable at family functions. My heavy drinking started because I was sad, broken, and had no idea who I really was. I heard about Teen Challenge from a friend that went through and had successfully completed the program. He has been sober for 5 years and has turned his life over to Christ. I wanted what he had. I want to complete my 12-month program and heal back together. I want to leave here knowing who I am, have confidence, and to love myself the way God does and to have a personal relationship with Christ.
