Growing up, life for me was a mixed bag of good and rough. I was loved dearly and punished severely by my dad who was also my pastor. My older sister eclipsed me with her many talents. Seven years into my life, my twin brothers arrived. My addiction began in my mid 20’s. I began drinking and drugging on a social basis, but it took a turn to isolated drinking and marijuana use within a couple of years. My relationship with alcohol and marijuana abolished my insecurities and gave me the “voice” I had silenced for as long as I could remember. I know that my longing to know God more intimately is ultimately what brought me to Teen Challenge. As a result, God opened and closed the doors to guide me here. My top priority while being here is to increase my knowledge of God, to hear His voice more intimately, and to deny this flesh of its demands to be comfortable. I want to be obedient to God and be victorious in my Christian walk.
