LeeAnn G.

Like many people, I grew up in a family that was dysfunctional. My father passed away suddenly when I was 5 years old. My mother was left with 5 children from the ages of 5-15. After this event, life was mostly chaos. My older siblings got into drugs and other destructive behaviors heavily and my mother was just trying to cope the best she could. I had my first drink right before my 18th birthday. I was also introduced to cocaine. I continued to use drugs and drink alcohol for the next 30 plus years. I believe I used drugs and alcohol because I did not know how to process my feelings.  I spent 8 months in 2015 in Minnesota Adult Teen Challenge and I was able to completely change my life and stay sober for 5 ½ years. When my drinking got out of control again, I was living in Arizona and knew God wanted me to come to Home of Hope. I believe God is continuing to teach me about Him. He started an amazing journey with me in 2015 while at MNTC and through His love and grace He is continuing that journey. I now have hope back in my life and I am willing to walk through any doors God opens for me.
