Growing up, love was a foreign action between all of my family members – immediate and distant. My father was a heroin addict and an alcoholic and my mother was a drug dealer. Because of that lifestyle, I ended up in and out of prison. I started doing drugs when I was 13 years old. Which affected a lot of decisions I made in my life. I used drugs to cover up the reality that I lived in. What brought me to Teen Challenge was me not dealing with my rebellious attitude in addition to having children. My life started to become too overwhelming. I didn’t know what true rest looked like until I came to Teen Challenge. I hope to balance my life again and the new roles that I’ve been given as a new mother of three boys.
