For as long as I have lived in Tucson, I have known the property next to the Tucson Teen Challenge facility to be a place that has had a dark shadow cast over it. Through my time as a student I’d hear stories of the horrors that take place there regularly. As I stepped into employment with Teen Challenge, I’d often times drive past the Tiki Motel wondering what sort of frightful sight I’d see. Through the years I have spent at the Tucson Center, I have been around to have seen many police raids take place there, many nights with the sounds of gun shots cracking, and most unfortunately more lives lost that I can recollect.
I share all of that to share this. That property will soon be one that has been claimed by Jesus and will no longer be a place that casts a dark shadow on this neighborhood and city. It will be REDEEMED! For many years, God had put that property on the hearts of our leaders, staff, volunteers, and prayer warriors. God is faithful! For in this time God has made a way for Teen Challenge to purchase the property. For all the dreadful things that have taken place there, they will come to a stop. It will be made into something all new, into something that gives life rather than takes life.
God has used Teen Challenge of Arizona to save countless lives, restore an immeasurable number of families, and has brought life back to those that thought they had none left. The purchase of the Tiki Motel Property will allow us to have an even greater reach to help the hurt, lost, and hopeless people that God has called us to love. This is the beginning of a story of turning a place, a corner, from a place that for so long took lives, to a place that will now and forever give life in Christ’s name!

To talk of the hundreds of men who have been renewed and resurrected through Teen Challenge in their compact treatment center on Oracle Road is to really miss the VERY big picture. THAT would include families restored, friendships jobs and relationships brought to a new level. The ripple effect of a single life changed is beyond calculation. We experienced that when our son Cole experienced the healing transformation at Teen Challenge.

Ever since the Tucson Induction Center has been at its current location, my wife and I for years have always thought, “Teen Challenge needs to acquire that corner.” It will change so much at that intersection. So many drug deals are made on that corner. Addicts and prostitutes are constantly walking across the pedestrian crosswalks right in front of that corner. As you well know, location is key! As you prayerfully consider this opportunity, this will be huge for Teen Challenge, its influence, and reach in this community that needs them so badly.
