Growing up, I was surrounded by a lot of death. My dad and brother died, my mother committed suicide, and my uncle beat me all the time. I ran away, and life got bad. My addiction began when I was about 12 years old. I used drugs and alcohol to live with the pain that was caused by my mother’s suicide and the pain of being beat for years by my uncle. I recently got out of prison and ended up getting involved back with drugs. I wasn’t living my life for God. I wanted to die and I lost all hope, but God led me here to Teen Challenge. I am here to work on myself, I’m being obedient to God. He said this is where He wants me and this is what he wants me to do. So I’m being obedient. I hope to find what God’s purpose for my life is. Also to not only be sober, but to really get my life back.
