I grew up in foster care, and never saw my real parents that much. My addiction began at age 7 when I started stimulating myself physically to escape the reality of my situation. My addiction gave me comfort that neither my real parents nor foster parents could provide. My addiction steered out of control, so I told my foster parents and they helped me get here. Although I’m here to curb my addiction, Teen Challenge is helping me to break out of my shell and become a man of God. I hope to find what drives me and understand what love means.
