Shane B.

My upbringing was actually pretty good. I was involved in sports and extracurricular activities and enjoyed spending time with my family. My addiction initially began around the age of 11, when I started experimenting with marijuana. By the age of 15, I was regularly using narcotics. I felt that drugs provided me with a sense of confidence, allowing me to be more social and put myself out there. I now know that was a lie. Right before entering Teen Challenge, my circumstances were awful. I was heavily addicted to fentanyl and would be very sick if I did not have my fix. I am here at Teen Challenge to obtain a better understanding of who Jesus is, so I am able to build a new foundation, seek restoration with my family and loved ones, and have a brand new life. I desire to be a godly man, husband, father, and servant.
